Dr Ron Woods was born in Western Australia and educated in both WA and the USA. He is an economist with a PhD in economics. Dr Ron has extensive experience in financial markets. He is regarded as one of Australia's leading market economists and has a knack for being far ahead of the curve in assessing the direction of the economy. He has also lectured at various universities in both Australia and the USA.

In the financial markets, he has worked on both the “sell” and “buy” sides at diverse institutions such as the Commonwealth Bank, Bankers Trust, NM Rothschild and Challenger.
